When the population leaves so do the businesses. In the winter time the New Jersey Shoreline turn into a ghost town. The crowds leave the roads, the beaches and, their summer houses. I always look forward to the time in mid October when the businesses start displaying their closed for the season signs. This is an indicator that the true locals have their towns back for the winter. These winter time ghost towns also are depressing to the people who live there. Looking at the boarded up stores and the blinking yellow traffic lights you could never image this area being prosperous during the summer months. The thoughts of summer seem so distant by mid February that you wish the tourists, and business would come back and give you something once again to complain about. Like clockwork every year it happens, memorial day weekend the lights turn on, and everyone is back for another round of summer.
